Join ABB Power Grids as an Engineering Manager in the System Integration unit in Vasteras, Sweden. You will be part of the Power Grids division, which is the world's leading supplier of power and automation products, systems and service solutions for the entire value chain from power generation to the transmission and distribution of electricity. Our offer spans transformers, HV products, systems for power transmission and solutions and automation for integration and interconnecting power grids – to enable a stronger, smarter and greener grid. The Power Grids Grid Integration (PGGI) business unit supplies stations, systems solutions and service for transmission and distribution facilities. Customers are power companies, industry and other companies that need to be connected to power networks. The market is driven by the need to create stable power networks and by environment reasons with the aim of increasing the use of renewable energy. In this role you be responsible for strategic direction, leadership, management and coordination of the engineering function across the System Integration unit in Sweden. You will lead a number of engineering teams within a business unit and ensure that safety, integrity, financial and contractual requirements are met. Another important part of your role is to initiate and drive continuous improvement activities across the engineering teams.

Uppgifter :

In this role, you will set development engineering strategy and policy for the System Integration / Substations Engineering unit in Sweden. You will also provide an interface between the engineering teams. The engineering function is responsible for Lead Engineers, Civil Engineering, Systems, Primary, Secondary and Commissioning. You will have two managers reporting to you and also directly lead the Lead- and Systems-engineering team.

You will provide management, leadership and coordination to the Substations Engineering functions to increase engineering excellence within Sweden, by fostering and promoting a proactive team culture which ensures collaborative working, shared learning and best practices, good communication and the recognition of success, driving through innovation, as well as by supporting recruitment, training and development. Another important aspect is to actively promote and develop the HSE (Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality), integrity policies, and culture within the team and across the business.

As the Engineering Manager, you will also provide support to the System Integration – Operations management team in strategic and operational decisions, to ensure the development of the business to meet future requirements in current and emerging markets.

Lastly, the job includes the improvement and formalization of relationship with clients, suppliers, governing bodies, professional societies, educational establishments, and other stakeholders, by enabling open communications, encouraging and supporting membership and participation in technical discussions, papers, presentations and the development of standards and directives.

Krav:

You enjoy leading, motivating and developing people, and are used to building strong relationships. Experience with leading change management initiatives and proven insights on how change affects individuals will be strongly preferred. You are highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, have a sense for business, and enjoy the challenge to make your team thrive and deliver excellent results.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology, with technical management experience as well as general line management experience. You have effective communication and influencing skills in addition to strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Since most documentation used in System Integration projects is in Swedish, it is required that you are fluent in both Swedish and English, written and spoken alike.
