Test Engineer to Scania XPI i Sodertalje

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Scania has, together with Cummins Inc, a Joint Venture to manufacture XPI Fuel Injection systems. The JV consists of Machining, Assembly & Test. The operations are located in Columbus IN USA, Juárez Mexico and Södertälje Sweden. There is also a global Fuel System Engineering with the center in Columbus IN USA to develop and support the products.  The Fuel Systems JV has recently opened a new engineering office in Södertälje.

This is a great opportunity to do that, project management and development at the same time.

As a test engineer you will see the whole life chain of our products. From implementing the newly developed pumps and injectors into production and making sure the correct performance and quality are supplied to the costumer. We are constantly working to improve our products inside the production area and also helping our end customers solve issues they may experience.

The main role of a Test engineer is to act as an expert support function to the assembly plant.

Complex problems requires test engineers who can support production, projects and departments with their knowledge of the machines and how they relate to product performance. The test engineers are also responsible for making sure the products is tested according to standards and specification as well as providing feedback on the limitations and possibilities when creating the standards and specifications.
The assignments are very dynamic and cross functional with a global network that offers an opportunity to work closely with the teams in U.S. and Mexico.

Your work assignments

• Project part ownership from initiation to implementation.

• We are a growing business with new projects being part of the role. You will have the opportunity to develop, document and track project schedules.
• Perform troubleshooting and improvement investigations for deviations observed in production.
• Statistical analysis, big data handling.

• Test planning and exekution.

• SQL and VBA programming are the usual tools utilized for data analysis but you will also have the ability to work out at the machines when necessary.

Your profile
B.Sc. or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering (or equivalent work experience). To be successful in this position flexibility, adventurous mindset and communication is key. Excellent English and Swedish communication skills are required.
