The department for Nuclear Design and Analysis is now looking for two reactor physicists.
  
The main tasks of the department Nuclear Design and Analysis are to perform the nuclear design for the fuel to be delivered to the Vattenfall’s nuclear power plants Ringhals and Forsmark and to review licensing analyses for new types of nuclear fuel. Other reoccurring assignments are core design optimization and safety analysis for the coming operating cycle outages at the power plants. The department provides also different types of analyses within its competence areas which are reactor physics, thermal hydraulics and transient analysis. To perform these tasks, the department uses advanced computer codes to simulate both steady-state and transient conditions in the core.
  
The Assignment
Your main tasks will consist of analysis of optimal nuclear fuel design and core design for Vattenfall’s nuclear power plants. As a reactor physicist you will also take part in validation of our calculation codes and models and contribute to the development of our work processes. The position will give you opportunities to specialize in the fields of reactor physics and even to deepen in some of the other competence areas such as safety analyses.
  
You will be part of a very qualified team. The work includes close contacts with our colleagues in Forsmark and Ringhals and with our suppliers of nuclear fuel and computer software. Together with the power plants and suppliers of codes and nuclear fuel, we continuously work to improve our processes and products. Close cooperation with both the power plants and suppliers is therefore also a natural part of our day to day business.
  
Qualifications
• Academic degree of relevant discipline, such as physics or similar
• Previous working experience in the field is preferable
• Some programming knowledge is preferable
• You can express yourself orally and in writing in both Swedish and English
   
As a person you are analytical, thorough and quality-conscious. You get things done. You work independently and take initiative. Working together with others in various forms of project is also something you appreciate. You have good communication and networking skills and are able to document your work and to present it in a way that is understandable for a broader audience.

Vattenfall Nuclear Fuel AB (VNF) procures, optimizes and delivers nuclear fuel to Vattenfall AB´s nuclear power plants. The company provides technical analyses and services related to fuel and reactor operation. VNF has about 50 employees well distributed with respect to age, gender and background. A majority of the employees are engineers educated at university level. VNF’s main office is situated in Stockholm.
