Uppgifter :
Stepper motors are commonly used in a wide variety of applications and continue to become more powerful and less expensive. However, to meet relative high performance applications, e.g. robot application, stepper motor performances need to be further improved. Several master thesis projects have been conducted from 2016 (http://goo.gl/Z37iOj) developing control algorithms to improve motor performance. The tasks of this thesis work will be build analytical and/or FEM models for hybrid stepper motors and study the performance with the developed control algorithms. A stepper motor platform is already available for verification purpose in the thesis work.
Both commercial and in-house developed code will be used. We are looking for students with background in electrical engineering, applied mathematics/physics. Prior knowledge in FEM analysis tools e.g. ANSYS, COMSOL are desirable but not required.
In the end of the requirements, please state the following information:
• January 2019- June 2019
• 30 ECTS/högskolepoäng(hp)
• One student project is preferable
• Work done mostly on site
