Klarna was born in Stockholm in 2005 and today has 2500 employees working across Europe and the US. We currently serve 60 million consumers, work together with 130,000 merchants and process more than a million payment transactions a day. We are growing at 40% year on year and our investors include Visa, Atomico, Sequoia Capital, Permira and Bestseller group/ Anders Holsch Povlsen. Finance in Klarna are on a truly transformational journey where the financial processes are integrated into one high performant infrastructure allowing deep insights and flexible reporting.
You will be the Engineering leader of the Financial function in Klarna with a responsibility of Klarna Banks accounting, financial reporting, treasury, financial steering and regulatory reporting processes. You will work closely with the Domain leads in Finance and set the engineering standards, increase automation and further increase the Klarna position versus its peers. You are part of the overall Finance leadership and have 4 teams of engineers reporting to you, and you will lead the Finance Engineering Leadership team.
In this role you will also be part of the Klarna level team that continuously develops the engineering culture, competence and standards - lead by the CTO.
You are a mixture of financial thinker and engineering leader, being in the front of technology delivery and development paradigms as well as financial regulations and trends. You have seen traditional implementations and have a vision on how this could be done in a detailed thinking fast paced company. You speak finance and engineering and enjoy to break down problems into actionable plans both for engineers and finance specialists.
You have a strong track record of leading engineers to deliver off the shelf and developed software in a fast changing high transaction environment and strives for optimising for highest speed in execution.
You will inspire, lead, shape and grow the Finance Engineering organisation - through an understanding of current and future Finance needs broken down into how to further develop the Finance Engineering organisation. You will play a key role in helping us continue attracting, developing and retaining great engineering talent.
You are able to hold your ground in a technical discussion and can challenge teams’ decisions with questions to ensure quality and pragmatism. You are expected to actively contribute to architectural decisions as you hold the big picture view.
