The department Commodity Sheet Metal buys steel products for our global truck and bus production and are currently in a growth period. We are looking for a committed team member interested in business and technology who wants to be part of developing the future of Scania.

Your duties
The role of Commodity Purchaser Surface Treatment and Product Cost Optimisation is a function with dual responsibility.

Within the Surface Treatment segment you are responsible for the segment’s commercial strategy which includes securing the right supplier base and being a commercial support function to other purchasers in discussions with Tier 1 suppliers related to this segment. Your focus will also be to maintain a structure together with Research and Development, the Quality Assurance group and suppliers to ensure optimisation of quality, delivery and cost for Scania’s products.

In the area of Product Cost Optimisation, you are responsible for cross-functional coordination and driving the various cost driven activities for the Commodity Sheet Metal group. This work provides a good opportunity to work on an integral focus area and includes being responsible for evaluating and implementing a wide range of activities that will lead to cost optimisation for Scania.

Your profile

We are looking for people who are able to project manage and translate strategy into workable, tangible and realistic actions for the organisation. You are structured, have a very good commercial sense, creative, flexible and interested in technology. You have the ability to deliver results by communicating clearly, working cross functionally and managing relationships internally and externally. The role balances several tasks in parallel and deliveries are according to aggressive timelines. We expect you to be an engineer or business graduate with a few years of work experience within purchasing, project management or product development.

As the role involves a large international network and some travel, you will need to be proficient in both written and spoken Swedish and English. Other language skills are an advantage.
