Purchasing Buses & Coaches is playing a key role in achieving a successful product.
Our team consists of 19 highly motivated individuals with most probably the biggest diversity of nationalities within Global Purchasing. Our people is located in Poland, Finland and Sweden. We purchase all material needed for Bus Body production in Lahti (Finland) and Slupsk (Poland).
We are now seeking one additional Sourcing Manager for one of the key positions in our team.
Role description / Your duties
Scania Busses contains many components with high technology content developed by suppliers. Some examples of this are Climate System, Door Systems and Gas Equipment. These components are also accounting for a very relevant portion of the Bus spend.
As a Sourcing Manager for Bus Body Components you will manage, challenge and develop your supplier base to ensure sourcing to the best technology, quality, delivery and cost with a focus on sustainability. You will be responsible to lead and further develop sourcing strategies and to create business plans.
You will work in close cooperation with R&D team at Scania and cooperate in sourcing activities with MAN and other partners, which means that you will have a wide network of contacts, both internally and externally.
The office is located in Södertälje, but the position will involve some travel to Scania production units and suppliers.
Your profile
We are looking for a person with a strong commercial interest and result focus, with a sound ability to develop and maintain a broad network of contacts both internally and externally and who dares to challenge the current way of working. You should have previous experience of purchasing and be able to work both independently and within the team.
Qualities that we regard as vital for this position are:
It will be a plus having previous experience in sourcing supplier developed components.
Due to the extensive international contacts you must be capable to express yourself fluently in both spoken and written English (Swedish and German is beneficial).
