Are you an experienced manager within design and operations? Would you like to work in a system-oriented business with advanced systems in a creative and international environment? Challenge yourself in this position as Design Operations Manager! You will be a Part of Marine & Ports in Västerås. Marine & Ports is a business unit within ABB’s Industrial Automation division that assists shipping companies to transfer containers in a reliable, fast and cost efficient way. Specialized in advanced automation and information systems for motion control of all types of container cranes, Marine & Ports is the leading supplier of crane systems and is active worldwide.

This position offers you a possibility of working with large systems deliveries in the global market. The Manager of the Design Operations department is part of the management team and is responsible for the complete system delivery including application design, MV switchgears, LV cabinets, drive system configuration and technical support for crane and terminal automation systems. You will lead a department including 4 sub-departments with reporting line managers.

You will report to the Business Unit Manager in Sweden.

You hold a relevant Master’s of Science or equivalent degree and at least five years of experience of management, it’s an advantage if you have experience from leading leaders. Experience in HW and SW Design is essential. You are target driven and have experience in executing customer projects in a system-oriented business. It’s essential that you actively manage the teams and drive continuous improvements regarding design, operation excellence, quality and customer satisfaction. As you will have both Swedish and international contacts it’s a must that you are fluent in English and Swedish, both spoken and written. Additional language skills are an advantage. You are a person who both enjoys leading others and working in teams.
