Business Developer, Biorefinery i Sundsvall

We are looking for a business-oriented engineer that can support the growth in biorefinery projects by:

• Developing new businesses linked to projects within green chemicals, advanced biofuels and technology development


• Leading projects or subprojects in all stages, from idea to commercialization


• Establishing new contacts to expand our business network


• Assessing and evaluating new technologies and chemical processes


• Developing partnerships to add more value to existing projects


• Analyzing markets, policy landscapes, technologies, financial potential, etc


• Designing technical solutions to speed up the development

The successful business developer will have the chance to work with numerous projects, and all the things linked to them. There are many different stakeholders involved, internally as well as externally, that will require extensive networking and communication.

The ongoing projects aiming for commercial scale production include hydrocarbons from crude tall oil, hydrocarbons from sawdust and bark, and hydrocarbons from lignin. The products can be biojet, renewable diesel and renewable naphtha, but also green chemicals and other by-products that can be used in an array of high value applications.

Currently, the evolution of biorefineries is limited by technological maturity. This is the reason why SCA is also developing technology for lignin conversion.

Your main passion in life is related to sustainable development, climate change mitigation and replacing fossil products with renewable.

A combination of relevant engineering background and business acumen is critical to succeed in this position. You have work experience within relevant business areas, and competencies in at least one of the following:

• Business development or business analysis


• Product or brand management


• Mergers and acquisitions


• Partnership creation

By being a social and talented networker, you communicate perfectly well in English, and preferably other languages.

Additionally, you are perceptive and strategic enough to vigorously learn more about market trends, how the policy landscape evolves, new emerging technologies, and the strategically ideal role for SCA in this environment.
