Development Engineer XPI Fuel System Sweden.
Unique opportunity to participate and build a new business within Scania with a large global network and ability to be self-sufficient.
Scania has had a joint venture with Cummins for the development and manufacture of common-rail fuel systems since the beginning of the 2000s. The production of these systems is located in Juarez, Mexico and in Södertälje, Sweden. Product development has mainly taken place in Columbus, USA, but in 2017 we have now also started product development and product support for our XPI fuel systems here in Södertälje. This allows us to be able to offer better local support and get closer to our current and future European customers and suppliers.
The mission of this new team is to develop common-rail fuel pumps and injectors for existing and future customers within the Volkswagen Group. In order to meet all our planned deliveries in 2019 and onwards, we are now in need to hire another development engineer with a focus on pump development.
Your work assignments:
In your role as a development engineer, you are responsible for development and verification of mainly fuel pumps, but to a certain extent also injectors, in close cooperation with your colleagues in the United States. You will also assist the assembly plant and aftermarket with product knowledge when implementing new products in production.

We are looking for a mechanical engineer or equivalent with a burning interest in technology and the experience of product development. The role requires that you can work independently and have a natural drive and have very good communication skills since the contact areas are many and global. You should appreciate working in a very global environment where the working language is English. Experience from fuel system development and / or precision machining is an advantage. The role involves travel, mainly to the US and within Europe.
