KICKS is looking for a Lead Data / Machine Learning Engineer i Stockholm

Kicks is the Nordic’s leading beauty omni-retailer, with 250 stores, 2,5M members, and with the largest e-commerce and multi-channel presence in the market. We are now searching for a Lead Data /Machine Learning Engineer to join the growing Data & Analytics team. The team is responsible for developing and exposing analytics products throughout the organization and reports directly to the CEO.

Kicks has recently completed a major digital transformation, which has made high volume and quality data readily available (millions of transactions every day). We are now further expanding our efforts within Machine Learning and have defined a broad number of use cases, ranging from customer analytics, CRM, and online, to category/assortment and logistics optimization. As we are executing on these we are recruiting more data engineers, data scientists and data translators. The Lead Data Engineer role will be instrumental in spearheading and taking ownership of designing and how we build our data pipelines, the overall data architecture and operationalization of machine learning models.

In parallel to the long list of use cases we are also building out our advanced analytics stack, based on various Azure cloud components, such as Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Data Lake and other related Azure cloud and analytics technologies.

As the lead Data and Machine Learning Engineer at Kicks, your mission is to spearhead the expansion of our data & advanced analytics eco-system, work hands-on with data engineering and data pipelining for a variety of problems such as personalization, optimization, classification and regression. You will also influence, build and maintain the data infrastructure required for Machine Learning projects, including architect, develop and maintain the framework for analytical pipeline and the connection to down-stream “consuming” applications. Another task is to leverage your understanding of software architecture and software design patterns to write scalable, maintainable, well-designed and future-proof code.

Your background as a Data Engineer

• You have a degree within software engineering or similar field and a strong desire to continuously develop your engineering skillset
• 3+ years of experience from building robust data pipelines, and from ETL development. Eg. Airflow, Spark, Talend and the likes. Experience from Azure Data Factory and Databricks (or correspondingly from GCP or AWS) is meriting but not mandatory.
• Experience from being involved in feature engineering and in prototyping machine learning applications
• You have experience in working with high volume heterogeneous data, and are knowledgeable about different types of data storage and modelling techniques, and when to use them
• You are experienced in Linux and / or Python. Additional experience from Spark is meriting
• You have experience from agile environments, team collaboration, data-driven development, reliable and responsible experimentation
