We are looking for a Food Quality specialist for H&M Group’s new café concept, It’s Pleat. Do you have a passion for food and quality without compromising on food safety? Then read on.


As a food quality specialist for It’s Pleat you will join our team at the head office in Stockholm where we work tight together, always as one team. It’s Pleat is a new café concept developed by the H&M Group with an inviting and inspiring environment. The concept offers healthy-ish meals and treats at great value for money.


In the role as food quality specialist you will make sure that our products meet legal compliance, ensure food safety and that we meet our quality requirements. To be successful, we see that you hold a degree in a food related major such as agronomy, nutrition or food science and hold a minimum of 5 years working experience in food safety, EU food legislation and quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment. You need to have experience in conducting supplier evaluations and hold a good knowledge of food labelling.


Your main areas of responsibility would include;
Visits and audits of suppliers, yearly evaluation of suppliers and follow-up on non-conformities
Keeping up to date in food safety, regulatory updates i.e. monitor food legislation, coordinate lab tests and spot checks to assure we are compliant.
Investigate and act on quality issues, take decisions on product withdrawals/recalls.

Participate in annual external food audits, dialogue with food authorities.
Regularly meetings with H&M sustainability team and our compliance department to ensure food products follow set food policies.
You would approve/reject product specifications and ensure that certificates for food and packaging materials are valid and relevant.
You would work with our cafes and put together manuals for food products, proof read menus and compile correct information when we change menus.
Compile product labels that are compliant to relevant legislations and coach café managers regarding upcoming changes and improvements related to products/production/food safety.


Your skills:
You are a problem solver, like attention to detail and hold the ability to analyze things. As a person we see that you will bring a positive can-do attitude to everything you do and have excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English.


This is a fulltime fixed-term contract of 11 months at our head office in central Stockholm, ideally starting in September.
