Senior ESG Analyst, Private Equity, Stockholm

We are looking for a Senior ESG Analyst to join our team and play an important role in conducting ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) research of unlisted companies and leading the selection and reporting of impact indicators of these investments.

The Responsible Investments team works towards the ultimate goal to realise Asset Management’s mission of “Returns with Responsibility” and has a wide mandate to work with a number of ESG integration and sustainability related investment techniques.

You’ll join the Responsible Investments team where you as Senior ESG Analyst will be working on unlisted companies and sustainability and impact indicators. You work with environmental, social and governance analysis on company level, conduct due diligence of potential investments from an ESG perspective, identify key performance indicators on sustainability for target companies including collecting and analysing relevant data on the investment, help set KPIs on ESG and SDGs, lead on impact reporting framework for impact investments about the targets and portfolio companies.

What you’ll be doing:

• Be accountable for identification of material ESG risks and opportunities in private market companies
• Critically review sustainability trend research to understand target’s market
• Contribute to the development of the ESG research models and Impact measurement models
• You will have a confident and solutions-oriented approach to ESG related performance evaluation in the active ownership activities in a private equity portfolio
• You will execute and evolve for the unlisted markets NAM’s proprietary ESG research models, and impact reporting frameworks

You will join one of the largest groups of Responsible Investments analysis in Europe located across the Nordic region. You will take ownership of unlisted markets work adjacent to Responsible Investments team at NAM. Nordea Asset Management employs approximately 600 employees, primarily in the Nordic region and Luxembourg.

The role is based in Stockholm.

We are looking for you with substantial industry and investment-focused research experience, together with strong understanding of specific Environmental, Social and Governance issues.

To succeed in this role, you have the ability to work independently and proactively with the desire to take ownership of the success of related impact investments. You have strong analytical acumen and attention to detail. When interacting with others, you are appreciated for your cooperative style, solutions oriented and ‘can do’ approach, and strong ability to communicate with colleagues as well as with internal/external stakeholders.

Your profile and background:

• 5+ years of ESG analysis work experience
• Ability to conduct high quality research reports in English
• Master’s level degree in business administration, finance or economics, with a strong skillset in quantitative analysis
• An excellent grasp of English, both written and spoken
• A good grasp of Swedish
