Installed Base Project Engineer, HVDC Service i Ludvika

You will be part of HVDC Service, within the Power Grids division, in Ludvika. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used to transmit electrical power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems as well as to interconnect ac networks asynchronously to achieve optimized operation. You will report to Maintenance Service Manager and functionally to Installed Base Manager based in Ludvika, who will lead and drive the Digitalization of Old Plants Documentation (DOPD) & Installed Base Management System (IBMS) projects as Project Manager (PM).

The DOPD & IBMS projects are crucial for creating new business opportunities, supporting the tendering activities, efficiently executing service contracts and achieving customer satisfaction. These are a part of the vital initiatives in implementation of HVDC Service’s Growth Strategy 2019-2020.

• Identification and gathering of the old HVDC projects’ documents to be scanned.
• Scanning of the documents and converting them to readable files by using OCR software tool and making checks for conversion quality.
• Creating metadata for each document and storing them in proper folder structure in a documentation system.
• Identifying and gathering the data to be stored in ServIS database (ABB’s global database for storing information of installed base) and transferring it to designated template.
• Gathering of the required technical data for all the projects whose documentation exist in electronic form and transferring that to designated templates. Verification of the correctness of the data.
• Uploading the filled-in data templates to ServIS and performing quality checks to ensure correctness and proper storage of the data in the structure.
• Assisting the PM to perform tests on the data quality stored in ServIS.
• Assisting the PM to perform analyses of the data for different business purposes.
• The Installed Base Manager will lead, guide and support you to perform these tasks with high quality and on-time. You’ll follow a detailed project execution time schedule.

• You hold a Bachelor´s degree in Engineering or other relevant discipline. Experience from any utility or industry in technical or administration areas will be an advantage.
• You are a team player with positive attitude, keen to learn new things, structured and a result-oriented person. You have good communication skills and proficiency in English language.
• You are skilled in usage of IT/IS tools such as MS Office, scanning devices, documentation system and have curiosity to quickly learn new tools/databases.
