The Premium Opportunities and Products Tribe (POP) is responsible for the development of Premium Proposition. We have ambitious plans for this team to help discover and shape the music & audio listening landscape in 2020 and beyond. We want to develop a richer relationship with our Premium users that we can leverage to give them tailored experiences and offerings that they will truly value. In order to do this we need to understand the landscape of our user data across Spotify and find meaningful ways for our users to see and interact with that data. As a tech lead in this area you will be responsible for working across Spotify to understand our data and figure out how we can use it to create more meaningful experiences for Premium users. You will also work with your product and design counterparts to build solutions that allows users to interact with this data and insights to help us tune them and improve the experience. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music.
What you’ll doBe a technical leader within the team you work with and within Spotify in general.
Architect, design, develop, deploy and operate services and systems that serve millions of users
Help build and improve systems that positively impacts both the user’s experience and retention on our systems.
Facilitate collaboration between teams to solve interesting and challenging problems
Aid in levelling up our craft expertise through coaching and mentoring other engineers
Ensure our systems are future proof and ready to support the scale of our business
Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team
Be a leader of the Spotify-wide backend developer community affecting and driving our architecture and the craft across the company
You’re familiar with designing and building distributed and scalable systems and enjoy seeing millions of users running your code
You have a good understanding of data structures and algorithms, and understand how to apply them to design pragmatic solutions
You have experience leading large projects across multiple teams.
You are interested in keeping up with current best practices in your areas of expertise
You are experienced working with modern infrastructure and tools
You are comfortable running your software in Linux environments
You know and care about sound engineering practices like continuous delivery, defensive programming and automated testing
You have a good understanding of data structures and algorithms, and understand how to apply them to design pragmatic solutions
