Scania Engines is one of five business areas at Scania. It’s business, as a provider of a core component in OEM final products, is both complex and challenging. Due to that nature, it offers a dynamic and personal developing environment, where the sales process spans from customer prospecting and initial technical discussions, to customer adapted serial deliveries after which maintaining and developing the customer relationship is key. In 2018, Scania Engines delivered a total of 13 000 engines across the industrial, power generation, marine and defence segments, which was a 50% increase on the previous all-time-high figure.
More specifically for Defence sales, changing geopolitics around the world have led to a high-growth phase in the defence industry. Our own efforts to work closely with armoured vehicle manufacturers over the last few years has also positioned us for significant business growth in the coming years as well, which makes Defence sales a strategic part of the Scania Engines business.
