Why supplier quality?

To be a leader in driving the shift towards sustainable transport solutions, not only Scania but the entire supply chain of Scania needs to eliminate waste, i.e. have the right quality levels. Also, buying a premium brand the Scania customers expect premium quality. A majority of the parts for our Trucks, Buses and Engines are sourced from suppliers and hence we need cooperation throughout the supply chain to assure good quality of these parts. Supplier Quality (SQ) is a part of Scania Purchasing with responsibility for quality assurance of new and modified parts, as well as for securing capable production processes at our suppliers during the life time of a part.

What to do?

The main responsibility of Quick team SQA is to take part in the cross functional analysis of possible supplier related deviations that are detected at Scania units or in the field. For supplier related problems, you shall act as a leader in that problem solving activity. The Quick team SQAs are located at the Scania production units where you work near the assembly lines. As the Purchasing Quality representative at the Quick team you have the possibility to use the  knowledge and competence from the complete purchasing department when needed.

Within your area of responsibility you shall proactively contribute with continuous improvements and execute ideas on how to improve existing ways of working.

How to do?

As an Quick team SQA, you work cross functional together with colleagues from R&D, purchasing and Production within Scania,  but also with supplier representatives. The Quick team is led by the Quick team leader and the mission is to find root causes and to solve Quality deviation that occurred within the Scania production units or detected by the truck drivers out on the roads. You will follow well-established processes that will guide and support you during your daily work. Our suppliers are spread throughout Sweden, Europe and globally which offers you a possibility  to travel a couple of times during the year.

Who we look for?

You have a university degree, or relevant work life experience within Scania and quality assurance. You have technical interest, a high level of integrity and interest in problem solving. You preferably already have experience of quality assurance and manufacturing processes and enjoy working both independent and in a team. You are able to communicate In Swedish and English both in writing and verbally. In addition you can easily adapt to the amount of workload and prioritize among your cases . Having a B driver´s license is an advantage due to the supplier visit that will be conducted. It is important that you have a positive mindset, high ambitions and a willingness to learn.

Who are we?

Besides the Quick team you will also be part of a team of Quick team SQAs that are spread out at the different Scania production units around Europe. We are a team with a mix of gender, age and nationality that share the same tasks as you. We support and train each other to handle challenges and obstacles that can occur in our daily work. As the Manager for the group I am located in the purchasing office in Södertälje but my goal is to a be manager that is supportive and challenging. Even though the distance between our work locations I am regularly visiting you to make sure that conditions for a good work environment are maintained.  I expect that you can be transparent, you take own initiatives and that you contact me between the forums where we meet if support is needed.
