Om tjänsten

We are DICE

DICE (EA Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment) is the Stockholm-based game developer best known for creating Mirror’s Edge, Star Wars Battlefront and the Battlefield franchise, with Battlefield V being the latest installment.

We always try to push the limits of what is possible in our games but making them is difficult. That’s why we’re looking for creative and passionate people to join us and help build our immersive worlds. To that end we are looking for a Senior 3D Artist with experience from the games industry to join our team of content creators. We hope that is you!

Who you will work with

The DICE Stockholm 3D Art team consists of roughly 30 artists spread out across our different projects. 3D Artists at DICE don’t just build assets, they are given the ownership and creative freedom to work collaboratively with designers, programmers and other art disciplines to bring our worlds alive.

At DICE we value career development, well-being and fun, which in the 3D Art team translates to regular team meetings across all projects to share knowledge and ensure that everyone is up-to-date with the goings-on at the studio. We put realistic and sustainable planning and scoping of our features as the number one priority to guarantee a healthy work-life balance. We also organize activities such as workshops, life drawing sessions and regular team meals to bring the team closer together and foster a fun and inclusive workplace.

If you join our team then we would love to get your input on how we can make it an even better place to grow and excel in!

What you will do

As a Senior 3D Artist you will help us push the visual quality of our games to the next level. Aside from creating assets you will also share your experience with the team and be a role model for junior artists around you. On a daily basis you will work with the Lead 3D Artist in your project, meeting to review assets and discuss progress about project deliveries. On a higher level you will also work with the Studio 3D Director and Content Craft Manager to help push the 3D Art discipline forward and help create a stronger, more versatile and happier team.

You will also:
  • Together with other disciplines, own a level or feature and plan what needs to be built for it and how and when you should build it.
  • Manage the delivery of 3D assets for your level or feature, including creating assets from scratch and with the help of external development teams; creating briefs feedbacking on work received.
  • Feedback on the work of other artists in your team and be a go-to person for support and help.
  • Promote and enforce structure, such as naming conventions and documentation.
  • Be a role model for junior artists; setting an example by encouraging and promoting communication and collaboration.
Who you are

You are an experienced artist, probably with a couple of shipped games under your belt, and you know that seniority doesn’t come from just producing assets quickly, but more importantly being a role model for others and embodying collaboration, communication and teaching.

You are also:
  • Someone with 4+ years of experience as a 3D Artist in the video games industry.
  • Proficient in current generation industry-standard tools and workflows, such as Maya, Substance Painter and physically based rendering (PBR).
  • Aware of memory and technical constraints while working, and can balance visual quality with performance.
  • A person who is motivated by creating a collaborative, transparent and learning culture within the team.
  • Experienced in sprint planning, scoping of work and creating asset backlogs in software such as Shotgun or similar.
What’s in it for you? Glad you asked!

At DICE we take care of our staff and have done so during our steady growth over the last decade. In addition to a great compensation package we offer our employees massage every three weeks, a variety of sports activities (yoga and cross fit to name a few) and health care allowance. We have a collective bargain agreement with Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer and also provide our employees’ with occupational pension

Although we enjoy our work at DICE, we value our employees’ personal lives. A good work-life balance is something we practice and maintain even during high-intensity periods.
