Supplier Quality Engineer - Electronic Manufacturing Services i Malmö

We are looking to appoint a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) who will be part of a global team, whose key responsibilities will include qualifying existing and potential EMS suppliers and vendors of direct materials. In this role, you will perform a wide range of tasks covering everything from monitoring quality standards at specific sites and resolving any associated issues to evaluating supplier performance. You will be part of Industrial Automation Process Control Platform whose focus is to deliver products with high quality, on time and on cost. Your responsibilities
  • Drive supplier (re-)qualification process and ensure supply base remains fully compliant, including supplier onboarding support, monitoring of audit results, coordination of continuous improvement plans, and tracking of corrective measures.
  • Schedule, monitor, and approve supplier parts and materials, in addition to performing product surveillance at supplier sites, including analysis of data, inspection of manufacturing processes, and resolution of quality-related issues.
  • Support and develop suppliers to achieve compliance with ABB PCB manufacturing requirements and continuous improvement in quality, working in close collaboration with Supply/Category Manager.
  • Monitor suppliers’ key performance indicators, draw up reports, and set out action plans for development, in addition to conducting a continuous review of quality metrics and ensuring ongoing optimization.
  • Address quality-related issues, late deliveries, and other non-conformities as well as supporting root cause investigation and corrective action tracking.
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times, attend HSE seminars, and report on specific incidents, hazards, and near-miss events.
Your background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, complemented by 5+ years’ work experience, preferably in EMS manufacturing industry.
  • Good knowledge of IPC standards and PCBA manufacturing processes as well as a proven track record in use of structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Solid understanding of ISO 9001, Lean Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, FMEA, AQL inspection, and zero defects philosophy.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of DMAIC methodology, preferably underpinned by Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Drive and determination to exceed defined goals and improve business practices in support of ongoing improvement, in addition to strong strategic orientation.
  • Integrity, team spirit, cultural awareness, personal leadership, market orientation, and ability to embrace and drive change.
