Electronic Support Measurements (ESM) involves making radio frequency (RF) measurements over time, and extracting information about emitters in the environment. Each emitter emits a signal defined by a number of parameters. These parameters can be used to identify what emitter emitted a certain signal.
To identify what emitter is emitting a signal, prior knowledge in the form a database is used (sometimes referred to as a library). Constructing this library is a non-trivial task, which typically is done by domain experts. Since this is a very time consuming task, we would like to investigate if this process can be automated using machine learning.
Project DescriptionWe have seen a demand for automatically creating signal intelligence libraries. We believe this can be achieved using machine learning.
Specifically, we are interested in investigating dense signal environments that can be translated into threat libraries. Initially, you will work with a small dataset, which will then grow over time.
We will provide datasets representing different threat scenarios, a workplace, and computing-hardware.
Your profileRequired skills:
This position require that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.
OrganizationYou will be working at Business Unit Electronic Warfare (EW) located in Stockholm Järfälla.
Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.
The EW Systems business unit provides world-class signal intelligence systems and self-protection systems for next generation Gripen and Globaleye.
The Electronic Surveillance group (PU ES) within EW Systems consists of project managers, technical project managers, product managers, and machine learning engineers. Together we handle products, ongoing contracts and future business within the land and airborne ESM/ELINT segment. Recently, we also provide radar tracker seeker knowledge to our internal Saab customers that develops missile systems for fighter and naval applications.
