As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will be leading a Product Area made of 4 teams based in London and Stockholm, building Spotify’s mobile podcast and talk audio user experience. You will be paving the way as Spotify is moving to become an audio streaming service rather than concentrating only on music. The teams you will lead are both building out the core experience of talk audio content and pushing the boundaries on format innovation. You will form the leadership trio for the Product Area together with a product and design counterparts. At the same time, you will be part of the Tribe technical leadership team.
As the engineering product area lead your focus is to build a world-class organization with a focus on successful delivery, great teams, and technical excellence.
What you’ll do
- Grow and manage engineering managers, leaders, and senior engineers
- Grow skilled and passionate people and teams
- Creating a safe and inclusive working atmosphere
- Lead the technical strategy work for the product area, and drive the necessary transformation when deploying the strategy
- Advocate and advance modern software development and engineering practices
- Identify and introduce changes in the way your teams operate in order to achieve with them a high performing state
- Making sure that team is efficient, invests time wisely and makes decisions in a timely manner
- Work tightly with your peer product lead and design lead to set the vision for the product area, build and communicate strategy, and improve ways of working as a team
- Be part of the technical leadership for your tribe – shaping its strategies and help growing an amazing organisation.
