Chief Risk Officer

Group Risks purpose is to protect Swedbank Group against losses caused by unintentional or undue risk taking.
As Chief Risk Officer (CRO) your responsibility is to maintain a sustainable common risk culture within the organization as it is the basis for effective risk management, which provides protection against unwanted risk-taking, while contributing to strong risk-adjusted returns. You will assure that Group Risk is working closely with but independently from the Business Areas (BA) and Group Functions (GF).

As the CRO you will be responsible for:

• Supporting BA/GF in their risk strategies, as part of their business plans and ensure alignment with the Group Risk appetite.
• Where appropriate, setting relevant and acceptable risk levels from a Group Risk perspective based on BA risk appetite. Monitor the risk level development according to these limits and follow up on actions
• Supporting, monitoring and following up on the implementation of policies, instructions and directive goals set out by the Board, CEO, Chief Compliance Officer and local limits within the area of risk management in the BA/GF.
• Following up the BA/GF on Credit Risk, Operational Risk and coordinate Group Risk resources so that prioritization of work is made according to estimated frequency and potential impact of the risk handled.
• Pre approving significant process and product changes within the BA/GF before implementation within the New Product Approval process (NPAP).

We are looking for you who is an experienced leader and can bring a strategic mindset as well as strong business acumen to the position.
You are used to dealing with pressure in a calm and mature manner and comfortable making executive decisions in times defined by ambiguity and change. As a leader you are inclusive and engaging and inspire cooperation across functions and you also have a solid track record from having built professional teams.

In addition we are looking for you who:

• Holds a relevant academic degree
• Are a Senior Executive within Risk or other control functions with experience from reporting to the CEO or Board of Directors
• Have experience from the financial industry, large stock listed companies and/or regulated companies
• Have worked in complex and regulated organisations and used to working in cross-country-border environments, preferably Nordic and/or European
• Have strong communication skills, both written and verbally, with the ability to tailor messages depending on the context and audience
• Are fluent in English, both written and verbal
