Background

We have developed our iOS app to a mature MVP level, and are currently live on Swedish app store in public beta phase. The plan is to reach commercial availability late this year. Our lead but lone android developer is working overdrive to bring android app on level with iOS app, and are looking for someone who can join the forces to bring this amazing singing app to android users as soon as possible.

What will you do?

Build a brand new native Android app, that mirrors the functionality of our existing iOS app, but also adapt some things so that it makes sense for the Android platform. Work closely together with multiple team members to understand the requirements, and lead the development of the Android app. Be involved in the whole product life cycle, from idea, to design, to implementation, to releasing on Google Play. Write high quality code, that is easy to understand, adapt, and maintain.

The features in this app are focused around audio and video. Users shall be able to record themselves using various headsets and microphones while singing along to music tracks. There should also be various sound and graphics effects, such as reverb, or face masks. Users can also view other peoples videos and interact using typical social media functions.

What kind of person are you?

• 3+ years experience in development, mostly with Android by using either Kotlin or Java.

• Deep knowledge of the Android platform, understand how to make things look and feel great, using the native platform to its full potential.

• Proficient in git, build systems, tests, HTTP APIs, analytics, crash reports, logging, debugging.

• Prior experience in developing audio & video features for Android is welcome but not necessary

• Creative mindset. Ability to discuss ideas and intentions and convert them into solutions.

• Responsible. You notify people about any problems you have, and you prioritize things based on what is best for the product.

• You are excited about building simple and beautiful user experiences, and create stunning apps users love.

• Good communication in English.

For this position, we are not interested in recruiters, off shore development companies or sales people. Individual freelancers are welcome.

The job is a permanent job based in Stockholm, Sweden with start as soon as possible.
