Who we are?

 

Local Tooling and Equipment engineering is part of the organization Manufacturing Engineering and Logistics within Volvo Cars and is responsible for securing the right equipment and processes for all new vehicle programs within the Torslanda plant. We need to make sure that our final assembly line is developed to meet the future demands, support our vehicle programs and secure our customer’s expectations.

 

What´s in it for you?

 

You will work in a global environment within manufacturing, with cross functional collaboration to secure quality, cost, flexibility, ect for our products and processes within the final assembly shop. You will work with internal, as well as external stakeholders, while leading the projects from start till the end, when you hand it over to production and maintenance together with all created documentation and trainings needed to complete the assignment.

 

You will act as a Project manager, who works with the project team that is created by individuals from different departments and possessing various expertise and competencies, that will support you throughout the project. The projects we undertake within equipment engineering have high variety in both length and complexity. Therefore, this role will provide you a lot of possibilities for new learnings and growth on different levels. You will be part of the equipment engineering team, but when running the project, you will be working individually and independently within your project team.

What will you do?

 

In this role you will lead and execute equipment projects for final assembly shop according to Volvo standards and procedures, as well as create specifications and analyse the equipment design to fit in the process and meet customer demands.

 

You will perform safety-, reliability- and cost analyses, develop equipment strategies and contribute with specialist competence in early phases and in running production.

 

You will take on the responsibility for transferring competence within the area of responsibility to Production and Maintenance, follow the decided working methods such as VPDS and applicable BMS routines and report status and deviations in decided systems / tools to ensure that there are action plans to reach targets. Through lessons learned and continuous improvements you will secure that we do not repeat mistakes both in Car programs and in support to running production.

 

You and your skills

 

You have Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or relevant experience from industrial environment. Due to your previous working experience with manufacturing systems, procedures and organizations, you would feel comfortable within the environment.  Your documented experience from project management, change implementation and leading skills would be a great asset for you if you take on this role.

 

Due to daily communication in the plant, Swedish language is a must, as well as English (written and spoken) due to global contacts with suppliers and our manufacturing sites. If you have understanding of Volvo Cars processes, have worked in automotive industry before and already have an established network within the industry that is a plus.
