Volvo Car Manufacturing & Logistics is a unit within VCC that has full strategic and operational responsibility for the production and supply of Volvo Cars globally. 

Our department Central Tooling & Equipment Final Assembly is responsible for concept development and global common tooling for car programs and model year change. Our main costumer is Manufacturing Engineering and our deliveries are investigations/pre-studies and concept development for all type of equipment’s and designs of global, common tools/fixtures. 

This role is a good mix of developing new designs, adapting and improving existing designs and cross functional cooperation. It is a great opportunity to build a big network internally as well as externally. You will work under freedom and mandate within the company policies and project scope. 

What you’ll do 
In the role as equipment engineer in our team, you will work with Tool and Fixture design in for car projects for final assembly. You will work ondesign, procurement, installation and testing of prototype tools and fixtures as well as develop the methods used together with the tooling design team. 

 You will also contribute to the development of standards, concepts and work processes. Cooperation and support with other departments in the VCC organization as well as our offshore team is a part of the job. You will follow processes and applicable instructions documented in the Business Management System (BMS). 

Do you fit the profile? 
You have a university degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience from years of practice. You have experience of tool and fixture design in 3D CAD systems. It is meritorious if you know CATIA V5 and PLM systems (Team Center or similar) and another plus is if you have experience from method development and mass production. 

Finally, you are fluent in verbal and written English and have good PC skills (MS applications).
