ABB’s GPQS unit in Västerås, Sweden, part of the group’s Power Grids division, currently has a vacancy for a Commissioning Engineer, at our Field Operations.

• Contribute to planning and implementation of commissioning activities.
• Support and coordinate the installation activities with the Installation Supervisor/ Site Manager.
• Implement commissioning design changes and provide mark-ups for as built project documentation.
• Support continuous improvement of project process/product/system design.
• Conduct risk and opportunity assessments during commissioning phase to ensure implementation of commissioning plan, and also identify and report potential risks related to contract/quality/program/cost.
• Initiate and monitor risk mitigation plan in the area of responsibility and ensure stakeholders are updated on associated technical risks.
• Coordinate site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance Certification, identify and recommend new effective solutions to meet business and customer needs.
• Manage external organizations to ensure availability of commissioning equipment, systems or services.
• Give feedback to the organization to apply lessons learned process.
• Apply and improve processes and tools in one’s technical area to ensure effective project delivery.

• A BSc in engineering, with a specialisation in High Voltage electrical power, electronics, computer science or similar is required.
• Preferably you combine this with some years of experience from similar positions working with deliveries, services or commissioning’s of electrical power plants and/or control systems. We would also like to see that you have experience of Swedish Electrical Installation
• Installation experience is an advantage. An outgoing personality is a must, as this job entails a great deal of customer contacts and close cooperation with colleagues and suppliers
• You are structured, quality and safety-driven person.

• You have good communication skills and are strong in building relationships with your different stakeholders.
• You have culture awareness and proactive mindset as you will be working in a global multicultural and innovative environment for that reason proficiency in English is required.
