Senior Linguistic Specialist, Nordics i Stockholm

Om tjänsten

We are looking for a new colleague with exceptional native English-speaking skills and a strong understanding of communication and business context. You will be part of the newly established Editorial Office within Group Communications in Nordea where we aim to bridge across countries as well as business areas in our internal and external communication.

IN the Editorial Office where we work with an omnichannel approach to the stories that support the overall priorities of Nordea. That will require a strategic understanding of how to deliver key messages to both colleagues across the bank and to our customers and other stakeholders.

As a native English speaker, with preferably a master’s degree in communications, you understand and cater for the language and how we communicate. You’ll ensure that our communication is accurate and to the point while keeping our tone of voice. Together with the rest of the team you will also be responsible for ensuring that the strategic group messages are put well into context in our communication activities.

A big part of the job will be to proofread and edit texts written by colleagues and through that elevate the linguistic abilities across the department and company. You take pride in high quality and details, just like you enjoy teaching your colleagues to improve their language skills. You get energy from developing and driving the company’s language policy and tone of voice.

You already possess in-depth professional knowledge of communication and are experienced in advising and driving communication from a similar position in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

To be successful in the role, you know exactly how to phrase and create content for your audience. You care for the nuances in your native tongue, just like you take pride in making sure that all commas are in place. You are a highly skilled communicator and writer, able to navigate in a matrix organisation and have an eye for the details as well as the holistic picture.

You will report to Head of Editorial Office and will have close interaction with communicators in Nordea’s Business Areas and Group Functions, including other teams in our Group Communications function. You’ll have an opportunity to make a difference from day one - together with the team.

About this opportunity

What you’ll be doing:

  • Edit and ghost-write content produced by colleagues from the team as well as across the organisation
  • Ensure communication is consistent, of high quality and relevant to key audiences and stakeholders
  • Develop Nordea’s positions and messaging on a variety of topics, together with the rest of the team

We offer

A unique opportunity to take part in the creation of a new editorial setup within Group Communications. The team consists of very talented communicators across the Nordics with a good mix of internal and external communication experience. We will be working very closely together – both within the team and across Group Communication and the bank. Our ambitions are high but we’re not afraid to fail when we take on new challenges with enthusiasm, engagement, and curiosity. We appreciate a good laugh as well as a professional discussion of daily tasks and overall communication strategies.

Who you are

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in being at our best – and that we imagine you share with us.

We imagine that you have a linguistic and communicative background. You’re dependable, willing to speak up – also when it’s difficult – and truly enjoy working closely with a dedicated team. You have a strong work ethic and are passionate about doing a great job.

You:

  • Have a native level proficiency in English both spoken and written – preferably with a degree in English
  • Know what a good story is and how to tell it in a concise and engaging way
  • Have a clear understanding on how to aim your stories at different audiences and in different channels
  • Are a motivated and optimistic team-player who is self-driven and prepared to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team
  • Go to work with a smile and take responsibility in ensuring a good and pleasant working environment for your colleagues

We’re a cross-Nordic team, so it doesn’t matter if you’re based in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki or Oslo.
