The User Platform (UP) is responsible for the platforms for authentication, authorization, user account data, and user experience configuration at Spotify. UP was formed with the mission to enhance its technologies and move up the stack to provide a secure platform with reusable components that can be used on many different surfaces to help users log-in and handle their account data.
As a team, we lead the expansion of identity and access management (IAM) features to serve a wider set of Spotify customers and acquisitions. We are also working with teams around Spotify to help them experiment and customize the user experience in new and more refined ways.
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer in the authentication domain. To be successful you will need a combination of problem-solving, technical, and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle a mix of disparate tasks which may include project and software development work. As a Senior Backend Engineer in our squad, you will foster constructive dialogue and seek resolution when confronted in technical discussions and solutions designs.
You will have the opportunity to learn from and be mentored by, those who are building authentication in Spotify, grow, and influence authentication principles of our product. This role will provide career growth opportunities as you gain new security skills in the course of your duties!

- Coordinate technical projects across teams within Spotify.
- Facilitate collaboration with other specialists, product owners, and designers to solve interesting and exciting problems for delivering various media worldwide.

- Architect, design, develop, deploy, and operate Java services that serve millions of users in a DevOps manner.
- Be a leader of the Spotify-wide backend developer community affecting and driving our architecture across the company
