What you will do as Strategic Planner

The Mission of Strategic planning & Steering as a function

We guide and empower Business Tech organisation to align and deliver on customer needs and wanted business effects in line with our Group direction

As Strategic planner you will work closely with Business Tech management and key strategy stakeholders across the H&M Group to guide and support the alignment and implementation of strategy and steering within the organization.  This to ensure that Business Tech is delivering on our H&M Group direction.

You will be coaching leaders in the product organisation in their collaboration with stakeholders and delivery teams around priorities to create focus, direction and alignment on a quarterly basis by setting clear Objectives and Key Results.

A key part in the steering of our product organization is the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process that follows our common development cadence. You play a key role in ensuring that this process is fit-for-purpose and makes our strategic intent clear and available for the product teams and areas to support them with the best preconditions to create a good backlog and plan for the upcoming quarter.

We are on a journey together which means there is no clear path. You will play an important role in setting the foundation for strategy and steering in our evolving product organisation. Furthermore, you will:

  • Work together with Business Tech management to formulate strategic recommendations and focus areas that are anchored in our H&M Group strategy

  • Develop a deep understanding of our business and be the person that can guide and empower the leaders in setting the right focus for our product teams and areas

  • Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders (i.e brands & other group functions) to ensure alignment on strategy and prioritization

  • Drive constant improvement of the QBR-process, aligning it with budgeting and planning in close collaboration with our Controlling and Way-of-working functions.

We believe that you have the ability to support the development of organisational strategy by translating long term business goals into strategic initiatives across regions and products. 

You understand and embrace agile ways of working and incorporate them into our steering. You are a true team player and believe in a culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, and trust. Furthermore, we believe you have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role with extensive business knowledge, whereof minimum 2 years of experience in goal/strategy and steering. Preferably experience from large agile organisation or as a consultant towards agile external companies

  • Academic degree in a relevant field, minimum Bachelor´s degree

  • Ability to analyze complex problems and create a storyline

  • Ability to facilitate constructive communication, collaboration and knowledge-sharing between different stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – able to find solutions in complex situations and involve and influence various stakeholders

  • Ability to challenge and act independently, take own initiatives and lead the way – always striving to find the best way forward
