Senior Legal Counsel/Legal Counsel i Stockholm

We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel/Legal Counsel to join the Business Banking Legal team in Stockholm.

Business Banking Legal add value by providing excellent and to the point legal support to the business unit Business Banking. As Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a valuable role in helping Nordea, Business Banking and our customers in achieving their goals.

What you will be doing:

The main task will be to give legal advice within the Business Banking line of business. This will include drafting and negotiating documentation relating to credit facility transactions, general working capital products, guarantees, advice on certain financial crime related matters, as well as insolvency and work outs. Further you will deal with certain general matters of law, and in particular banking and company law, assisting Business Banking in their various business activities. Part of our work is to assist in Nordea’s digital journey why you will work with various technical solutions for the enhancement of the effectivity of the bank. Your tasks include consulting internal units and clients on product specific issues in relation to the structuring of transactions, drafting and negotiating agreements. You will further be involved in the development of certain new products. 

You will join a highly skilled team of 5 lawyers providing legal support to Business Banking covering all small, medium and, to some extent, large corporate customers in Nordea. We are a team of true collaboration both within the team and with the business areas we support. The role is based in Stockholm.

Your experience and background:

• Familiar with financing transactions and general corporate banking products.
• A profound experience from private practice or bank, of legal matters relating to finance.
• Experience from and documented skills in AML and general financial crime is considered an advantage.
• Candidates should hold a Master of Law degree from a Swedish university and a degree from an international university or have other international experience relevant for this position.
• Clerkship from a district court in Sweden or a well recognized law firm is considered a benefit.
• Excellent language skills in English and Swedish.
• Team-spirited and open-minded with a positive attitude, easily building relationships with key internal contacts.
• Interest in and experience from legal tech solutions.
• You are result-, action- and solution oriented, have an inner drive to get things done, has a capacity to take initiatives, capable of working under pressure and is willing to show strong commitment and the ability to make an extra effort.
• You are service minded and enjoy a constructive co-operation.
