You want to be part of a fast-moving early-stage-start-up on the mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable material consumption? We at Circulate are dedicated to accelerate the transition to more sustainable material usage in the packaging industry by creating transparency, guiding and facilitating the purchasing process. We are building the go-to-place in Europe for any company looking to find new packaging solutions, guiding them through the process, as a B2B marketplace connecting buyers and sellers across Europe. Developed through working in the industry, accelerated by Antler www.antler.co. Since our company is all about sustainability and impact, we are now looking for a sustainability intern (f/m/d) to join our team. Ideally full-time but part-time is also an option for the right candidate. Remote possible or at office in Stockholm or Madrid. Start date as soon as possible. Purpose: We want to create transparency in the packaging market and help companies make better choices. We need to find or create a sustainability index that rates every packaging product based on their lifetime environmental impact. Taking into account factors such as material composition, source, footprint, logistic efficiency, packaging design, recyclability, etc. Your job is to find or define this index, through reaching out to experts and develop a methodology in how to apply it to our seller's product through using modern technology. What you will do: * Take ownership for the whole process of defining and implementing our sustainability index * Research, analysis and evaluation of different methodologies and practices * Identify and establish collaborations with key experts and organisations * Analyze and keep up-to-date with future trends and practices for material usage, sourcing, supply chain and material design as well as EU regulations and their impact on the packaging industry * Make conclusions and present your recommendations to Circulate’s leadership team * Define our methodology for working with the index and implementing it to vendor’s different products * Work closely with the Circulate team and the vendors, educating and guiding them * Participate in setting Circulate’s overall sustainability strategy Skills good to have: * Currently studying/ previously have studied material engineering- or sustainability related courses * Having previous experience working with sustainability index or implementing any metrics or criteria is a big plus Who we think you are: * Driven, enjoys ownership, independent, likes to take initiatives * Passionate about making a difference and create actual impact * Interested in circular economy, materials, footprint analysis, sustainability and related trends, regulations and metrics within sustainability * Self-motivated and with the ‘start-up’ mindset who thrives of challenges * Strong analytical skills * Relentless drive to understand the bigger picture and how things are connected together in larger systems * Excel analysis proficiency is a plus * Fluent verbally and written in English (Fluency in Swedish or other European languages is a plus, but not required).
