We are looking for an engaged and forward-thinking data protection lawyer to work with the Legal & Compliance team supporting Global Online Experience (“GOX”), which is responsible for Volvo Cars’ growing online business. What you’ll do

You will be GOX’s data protection coordinator and as such handle qualified data protection matters related to online sales and marketing. You will have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and take on various data protection challenges, big and small, in a truly dynamic and international environment. In this role, you will help make sure that we adhere to applicable legislation and our own high ethical standards while at the same time enabling our development, operations and customer interactions to be data-driven. You will be a part of a network of several data protection coordinators within Volvo Cars and work closely with Volvo Cars’ central Compliance & Ethics Office. Your main responsibilities will be to:

• provide data protection advice to GOX;
• actively participate in the development of new customer offers and digital tools to support GOX’ business objectives;
• perform data protection compliance checks and risk assessments;
• draft and negotiate data processing agreements as well as draft privacy notices and other customer-facing documents;
• make sure that GOX’ data processing activities are properly documented; and
• train business and digital colleagues within GOX in data protection matters.

Who are you?

You are a qualified data protection lawyer with grades in the upper tier. In your professional life, before applying for a job at Volvo Cars, you have worked at least 3-5 years as a lawyer at a law firm or as an in-house legal counsel in Europe, primarily handling data protection matters related to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

You have a good understanding of privacy transparency requirements and privacy by design and default as well as a passion for protecting the privacy of individual customers. You excel at finding pragmatic solutions and ways to realise business goals while mitigating compliance risks. As a person, you are an enthusiastic and curious team player with a proactive and customer-oriented mindset.
