Are you interested in tackling global issues within education, sustainable economic growth as well as income and gender inequalities? Edventures is the world's first educational AI tool for entrepreneurs, tailored for the specific needs of the entrepreneur. Through our conversational interface and our bite-sized learning features, the user gets help with starting, running and growing its business or early-stage business idea. We're now looking to add a new member to our team of impact-makers. We aim to empower youths and underprivileged communities through entrepreneurship, simply by lowering the thresholds for people to explore and realise ideas they believe in. We have a prototype ready and are working to develop and launch our MVP this year. We’re looking for a person who doesn’t shy away from challenges and responsibilities, and who loves to put in an effort to learn and grow as a backend developer. We don’t care that much about extensive experience and a fancy portfolio, but rather that you have a great passion for code, relevant skills and experience but also that you wish to grow within this domain. We believe that you are currently studying or working as your main activity, but is looking for a unique challenge and that you are willing to invest a few hours a day of your time for this role.Please note that this is initially an unpaid role, meaning motivation and interest in our product and mission is a decisive factor for us. If we vibe and work well together, we want you to join the team long term, meaning you’ll be getting a slice of equity in the company. The Role You'll be: * part of a very interesting and special startup, and our potential journey from prototype to growth phase * having responsibility for, and opportunity to, influence our NLP backend * working from anywhere you want, and closely with our CTO and AI Lead * given the opportunity to test, fail and learn at an exponential rate * if you prove to be a valuable addition to our team, we want you to join the team on a permanent basis (including some equity in the company) Need to know/have/be: * experience with NLP models, libraries and frameworks, such as NLTK, BERT and Rasa * experience with APIs * Python * experience with managing databases and data flow * familiar with Git * familiar with Firebase and/or Google Cloud Platform * good at documenting your code, but also explaining the code to non-developers * fluent in written and spoken English * a communicative person, both internally and externally, good with words and able to explain what you’re doing and why * able to work independently, to set and meet deadlines We can offer you endless opportunities to develop both your professional and private skills and interests.
