Right now, we are looking for a purpose-driven lead engineer to the Digital Finance Product area encompassing the full end-to-end responsibility of the digital products used across Finance at Volvo Cars. You will lead the teams developing the current and future solutions and make sure that we make the right technical decisions. You will be taking on a crucial role, defining the technical roadmap ahead and being a sparring partner to engineering managers within Digital Finance.

Your mission:

You will be a part of the core leadership team driving the Digital Finance product area and engineering managers throughout the product area will be reporting to you. Being a servant leader, you will help them be great leaders, set technical direction, build talent and drive engineering solutions across the product area spanning from online payments, to performance steering and statutory financial reporting. Thinking ahead, investigating the future and innovating is key in this role.

You drive and set engineering principles and practice inside the product area and formulate the technical roadmap and technology solution design together with the engineering managers. Further, you ensure product area wide tech alignment as well as alignment with other product areas and their respective Engineering Leads in the broader tech community. Hence, you will play an important role in the group digital transformation.

You are responsible for ensuring and helping the product teams make sure the actual digital delivery takes place and as such, driving the engineering culture.

Who you are:

You have probably been an engineering lead for some time, managing larger teams, in the finance area for an online retain focused company, direct to customer business model, leasing companies or other subscription businesses. You have a deep technical/architectural understanding and have worked with ERP platforms including SAP S4/Hana, both from a delivery and strategy perspective. You understand what it takes to build great products and transform a digital landscape. You have experience of leading agile teams working across a variety of legacy and modern technologies.

We need you to be confident in delivering target digital blueprints of critical financial systems across e.g. pricing, transactions, accounting, reporting, tax and treasury.

You collaborate easily with colleagues across domains from product and development to business and finance. You are able to set high standards and have demonstrated the ability to build and lead a high-performance teams.

And above all, you are a good people manager. Attracting, empowering and growing incredibly talented engineers, and providing them with an environment in which they are set up for success.
