About Minut Minut makes a sensor and platform for Airbnb hosts and property managers of all sizes to monitor and automate their short-term rental business. Airbnb has enabled millions of travelers to experience the world like locals. Unfortunately, they don’t always behave like locals. Parties, noise and crowding causes conflicts in communities, damage to properties and fines or even lost rental permits for hosts. Minut detects and solves 94% of these issues while respecting the privacy of guests. We’re the clear market leader and only noise monitoring solution recommended by Airbnb. Hosts get peace of mind, neighbours peace and quiet, and guests can enjoy their stay in privacy. The Role We are looking for an experienced machine learning engineer to lead our small but growing ML team. The team is focused on developing product features using data, that can be everything from neural networks for audio classification to linear regression for battery life estimation. Going forward we want to continue to explore and build features around the sensor data that we are collecting. The team is not only responsible for building and training models but also to build infrastructure to run models and capture data. You’ll be a part of a larger engineering team that draws experiences all the way from hardware design to firmware development to backend and frontend. We’re innovating and breaking new ground together to create the most value for our customers. Read about Minut’s truly full-stack tech team (https://www.minut.com/blog/truly-full-stack-the-tech-that-makes-minut) Who you are * You have experience of solving real problems using machine learning and of putting your models into production. * You choose the right tool for the job at hand. * You feel comfortable leading a small team of ML engineers. * You are thriving in a fast paced startup environment with lots of unknowns. * You enjoy writing software as much as you enjoy training models. Technical skills * Proficient in Python and Numpy. * Comfortable crunching large amounts of data from various data sources, including SQL databases, Amazon S3 and MongoDB. * Experience of fusing many kinds of data to solve a problem. * Comfortable with at least one of: Pytorch, Tensorflow, or Scikit-learn.
