Job Description

We are now looking for a skilled leader and staff responsible, passionate about people and technology to join us on our journey. H&M is rapidly heading towards the digital future and we are looking for people with a natural drive who wants to make a difference within our product area Analytics & Data Platforms.    

What you’ll do   
In this role you play a vital role for us in our mission to making H&M Group a truly data driven company by providing relevant, high quality, self-service analytical products and platforms. We will do so by simplifying our customers everyday decision making. We are on agile journey so it is a must to embrace agile mindset and methodology.  

As a leader at H&M you will be responsible for several product teams consisting of employees and consultants’ cross countries. You need to be passionate about people – recruiting, developing, coaching, and shaping the teams as well as driving a cultural shift towards self-leading teams actively engaging in the team mission. You do so in close collaboration with the teams Product Owner and Scrum Master, you are together the trio that is on a mission to support the teams become well-functioning and high performing with people as the center of your joint mission.   

Additionally, you will be driving improvements across the area and organization ensuring that we together deliver in the best manner. It includes contributing on daily activities, but also tactical and strategic level to steer and drive the organization as well as the Engineering Manager role that is newly implemented within H&M. 

As an Engineering Manager you will work closely with your teams and help resolving any impediments that blocks the development of your teams and their products. You will: 

  • Lead and further develop teams becoming high-performance teams of cross-discipline engineers  
  • Have full personnel & budget responsibility as well as driving vendor relations for your teams 
  • Help grow the Analytics & Data Platform product area by creating the platform and tools needed to serve multiple customers  
  • Drive definition of technical strategy and roadmap  
  • Collaborating with the product teams and broader organization  
  • Provide support and guidance as the team works toward our agreed objectives — you will inspire and coach individuals and teams 
  • Partner with senior leadership to align our efforts in the domain space within the overall organization and people strategy  


Who you are  
We are looking for you who are smart, humble, and want to help us shape the agenda for our data enablement future, you will play a key role in our data transformation journey. To succeed, we believe that you have previous experience in leading highly technical people in an agile software development environment, you have previous experience within data and good understanding of modern tech and cloud solutions. We believe you are a person that makes an impact, believes in creating a learning organization, easily engage people and in collaboration with others help setting clear directions for teams and organizations. You are a strong leader and act as an ambassador for the organization in how to coach and develop the team. You have strong skills within communication and change management, you believe in the power of people. You feel accountable for the work done and you take pride in question and changing the status quo. You dare to speak up when necessary and seek input and feedback to improve further. Well versed in current technologies and practices with a good understanding of creating platforms for multiple stakeholders. 

You are also expected to: 

  • have previous experience within leadership and staff responsibility 
  • thrive when coaching and mentoring colleagues to be able to deliver 
  • have good insight into product and design methodologies and understanding in data-informed development  
  • are good at networking, cross collaboration and enjoys facilitating and communicating  
  • broadly enjoy the success of others and perform servant leadership
