Each year, Volvo Cars welcome people that are studying or just finished their education as Summer Interns to our sites in Gothenburg, Olofström, Skövde och Lund. As a Summer Intern at Volvo Cars you can work in production, in one of our storages or at the office. Spending a few weeks in our team is a great way for you to get an insight to what life at Volvo Cars can be like and gives you a basic understanding of our operations. It also provides you with a strong network in our organization, which can be of value in your future career.  The number of Summer intern positions and work areas varies from year to year.

To make this happen, we secure that all incoming transportation are designed, established, optimised, and executed, cost efficiently and with exact precision, to the entire Volvo Cars organisation. What you will do
This position belongs to the Intercontinental and Time Critical Transportation EMEA department and reports to manager Intercontinental and Time Critical Transportation EMEA. The role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Together with the rest of the team you will ensure that all production material transported by road, air, sea and train will arrive on time and according to plan to our production sites within Europe. You will work both proactive and with problem solving when a deviation is a fact, all to secure the running of Volvo Cars production.

Besides operations you will also work with long term structural development of our carriers, daily improvements and development of our processes and ways of working.

 

Competence and experience are important, but personality and potential are key
We are looking for candidates with ongoing studies or finished degree within supply chain/logistics or equivalent relevant working experience is a plus. Since we work in a high-paced environment, we believe you have proven ability and have your strength in prioritization, and have a proven ability to work creatively and analytically with a problem-solving approach. We believe you have knowledge and experience in MS Excel and understand operational planning and resource allocation.

 

We also believe that you can think outside the box and are eager to see the broader picture in all you do. If you have an operational background and/or experience in logistic processes, transportation or forwarding business, that knowledge is highly beneficial. Fluent English speaking and writing skills is mandatory.

Duration

Period for summer internship is 10 weeks, between 1 June – 31 August 2022.  Start and end time to be discussed with recruiting manager.
