What’s in it for you?
We are now looking for a Product Owner for Testing Technology and Metrology within R&D at Volvo Cars Headquarters in Gothenburg.

 

The group Testing Technology & Metrology establish and develop relationships with test engineers within almost all system areas of the vehicle, as well as building an understanding of the technology within those areas. We provide metrology expertise, solutions for testing, lending of instrumentation, design and service of development tools and solutions for testing departments.

 

We are on an agile transformation journey, and the Product Owner position is a new role within the group. Together with the Team Manager and the Team Leaders / Scrum Masters of the group, you will be a key player on that journey. Since we are a supporting team, we work as a Shared Service in the SAFe configuration.

 

We aim to provide state-of-the-art solutions for test and verification of next-generation cars in an efficient and capable manner. Our vision is to be the center of expertise within the area of Testing Technology and continuously evolve together with the company. In this role, you will have the chance to develop your technical competence and leadership skills while guiding your teams.

 

What you’ll do 
As Product Owner, you will own the technical roadmap and set the overall priorities for the group Testing Technology & Metrology. You will grasp the technology needs within R&D and transform them into technical priorities. In order to be successful, you need to have a broad network and be an “out there person” to identify key stakeholders.

 

You will be the servant leader for the group, consisting of highly skilled engineers with a deep technical knowledge within physical quantities, network solutions and investments. The responsibility of the group is to provide R&D with the right technique, equipment, and support. 

 

This is realized by networking with our internal customers and understanding their needs.  You will own, build, prioritize, decide, and refine features and stories in the backlog in close collaboration with different stakeholders. You will drive the technical dialogue and coordinate tasks. Together with the Team leader / Scrum Master you will support your teams to remove impediments and reduce risks to be able to improve quality and the speed of deliveries. You will also play an important role in building the team and creating a psychologically safe environment for continuous improvement and cooperation.

 

You will be a member of the section’s technology team, and review and contribute to the vision and roadmap. You will keep an eye on upcoming tech and be involved in the procurement of equipment to meet future requirements.


You and your skills
You have a degree in Mechatronics / Electronics / Electrical engineering and experience from leading, either projects or in an agile setup. Preferably you are comfortable using the SAFe framework, and you need to believe in the agile way of working. Experience within metrology or testing is preferable. 

 

You are a servant leader who possesses strong communication skills so that you can inspire the team to drive the technology development in the right direction, as well as driving the needs of Metrology outside our own department You share our passion for metrology, supporting our customers and interpret upcoming techniques into testing opportunities. As you will own and drive the strategic technology roadmap of Metrology, you will need a curious mindset and a structured way of working.
