Prototype Engagement Manager , EMEA Prototyping Team i Stockholm

Amazon Web Services (AWS) EMEA is hiring a Prototyping Engagement Manager (PEM) to focus on Nordics and Benelux markets. She or he will work with AWS customers to support the development of complex working prototypes leveraging AWS services.

The Prototyping Engagement Manager role is part of EMEA Prototyping Labs and will work in close partnership with Prototyping Architects to qualify and deliver multi-week customer engagements. The prototyping engagements are primarily focus on emerging technologies like IoT, Big Data, Machine Learning, VR/AR, blockchain.

The role can be based in any Amazon office in Nordics or Benelux and it will usually require significant travel to customers across Europe

The PEM has the following main responsibilities:
· Proactively identify prototyping opportunities with customers. PEMs dive deep to understand the customer's business as well as their technical architecture to identify opportunities or gaps that require use of emerging services.
· Establish the scope and define a working setup in collaboration with technical as well as business stakeholders of a prototype. This includes qualifying engagement to ensure that the investment of an engagement is likely to return a positive business result in the long run for the customer and Amazon.
· Execute prototyping engagements in collaboration with Prototyping architects and the account teams. This execution phase as well as all other phases of prototyping include hands-on technical work with architecture teams, service teams and PAs to develop working, production-scale prototypes with customers. Hence, PEMs have to directly contribute to customer solutions and continuously learn capabilities of existing or new services.
· Capture learnings as well as customer feedback from engagements and drive those learnings into the wider organisation to improve services and products. PEMs also participate in awareness campaigns as well as spreading technical as well as procedural know-how derived from their engagements internally as well as other customers.
· Working alongside Prototyping Engineers and Solutions Architects to support customers in the exploration, ideation, engineering and delivery of edge/ cloud-based innovation across an extensive breadth of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, Analytics, Internet of Things, computer vision and augmented/virtual reality
· Help customers structure their technical and organisational resources to ensure the maximum benefit can be derived from innovation, prototyping and the adoption of the AWS cloud
· Develop extensive executive and senior technical relationships within client organisations; being viewed as a trusted advisor for innovation and cloud technology

A day in the life
You might start your day with a couple of daily standups with different customers - help orient those ongoing projects and make sure they're on the right track.
Then move to some internal discussions on qualifications and upcoming projects.
You'll keep time aside to develop and execute your scaling strategy.
And maybe finish the day with a scoping meeting with a prospective customer - understanding the challenge they face, perhaps it's the biggest innovative shift in their industry in the last decade, how do you shape it to make it happen?

· Demonstrable experience in delivering highly complex, cross functional, multi-discipline technology or engineering programs
· Demonstrable experience in leading ideation process, transforming ideas and complex business requirements into concrete assets
· Demonstrable track record of success driving adoption of disruptive technologies across diverse industries or verticals
· Strong verbal and written communications skills

· Masters or Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science or other relatable technical discipline
· 10+ years experience in software, hardware or integrated systems design and delivery
· 3+ years of demonstrable experience using modern agile development and delivery methodologies
· Technical depth in areas of emerging technology such as IoT, AI/ML, Serverless
compute, Data Analytics, AR/VR
· AWS Knowledge and Certification as an AWS Solutions Architect
