This is an exciting opportunity of a highly visible leadership role for a motivated Assistant Principal to join a fantastic school in a growing company with high expectations.
At Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) we make a difference in the lives of our students. We believe this is due to our clear ethos with engaged and visible leaders creating an environment in which teachers can teach and students can learn. IES schools have a dynamic international atmosphere with staff and students from all over the world. Our schools are open to all with applications from students accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. IES Skellefteå is an F-9 school and Fritidshem/educare with 420 students that provides the opportunity for students to study the Swedish National Curriculum as well as an international curriculum - the globally renowned Cambridge Pathway, which is offered in partnership with Cambridge Assessment International Education.

We follow the Swedish national curriculum with up to 50% of teaching carried out in English. We are a school with a clear structure that enables teachers to focus on teaching and where students know what is expected of them. Our values are based on the fact that we believe in students' abilities and potential, we always put learning and knowledge first. The school is bilingual (Swedish and English) and we recruit our outstanding teachers and staff from Sweden and from abroad, allowing for a strong international profile. Dina arbetsuppgifter
The Assistant Principal will support the Principal with all his duties of the daily operations of leading a school. Although the role is highly flexible, you will primarily be focused around pastoral affairs and student care / elevhälsa, building upon and implementing behaviour and welfare systems in the school with a focus on student support structures, enabling teachers to teach and students to learn. As part of the school leadership team, you will work closely with the Principal and one more Assistant Principal and lead school development with the help of clear targets. In your role as an Assistant Principal you will work closely with, lead and support the staff to guide them in the social and academic progress of our students.

You are a visible role model with a strong presence in the daily life of the school. You have the ability to engage and inspire both students and staff. You are flexible and adaptable to change, whilst focusing on outcomes. You have teaching qualifications, a proven track record in student care, pastoral support and leadership experience. Previous experience from having staffing responsibility is preferred but not necessary. If you have personal qualities such as enthusiastic, focused, resilient and solutions-oriented to the day-to-day pressures that working in education can bring, then you could be the right person for this position.
