About us
Commodity Body Structure is a section within Manufacturing Engineering. We develop and implement quality assured, flexible and effective production systems in the Body shop plants. The section is working cross functionally & project oriented, supporting all Volvo Car Group´s Production Plants and car programs globally. Within the groups: Hang on Parts, Upper-body and Under-body we are now looking for 3 new members, working as an Area Leader Central.

Purpose of an Area Leader

To be a project leader and lead a cross functional team that secures best process design possible by driving Manufacturing KPIs for an intended manufacturing plant within own commodity area. To lead the team, to enable product feedback within the organization, to improve Manufacturing KPIs. To own and align global manufacturing processes and strategies within the Car programs that share commonality with programs or platforms. 

What you will do

Plan and lead the team to achieve project time plans. 
Represents ME as well as the plants, in supporting stakeholders.
Securing all Manufacturing deliveries from the team to the car programs.
Take actions on manufacturing related obstacle to achieve best process design and update status to Gateway/Milestone reports within area of responsibility up to Final Data Judgment.
Share best practice and knowledge and coach the team members.

Do you fit the profile?
You have a M.Sc. in Production or Mechanical Engineering or corresponding professional experience, such as Project Leader or similar. 
Other attributes which we put value on are; Business acumen mind-set, a good interpersonal and collaboration skills as well as being enthusiastic and customer focused. We believe that you are engaged in your work and encourage people that you interact with. You have a strong willingness and ability to drive change and results. Ability to travel within and outside Europe is of big importance as this is part of the role. Willingness to work abroad and relocate to other countries. 
You need to be fluent in English, written and spoken due to our global organisation set up.
