Who are we
Climate system department is responsible for climate development within Volvo Car Group. The Department is part of Vehicle Platform unit within Volvo Car's R&D division. Climate Systems is owning the majority of the components connected to the climate function, and the SW-control of the same. We are in a challenging and exciting journey where climate is an important contributor to the electrification, efficiency and digitalization transformation of the company.
The Air Distribution Team designs and develops air ducts and has the complete ownership of its components, from concept to industrialization. Our focus is to balance attributes as energy consumption, sustainable material, and climate comfort in the most valuable way for the customer.
Today the Air Distribution Team consists of 4 team members, a Product Owner and a Scrum Master. Now we are looking for a new colleague to complement the team and to bring additional competences and value.

In the Air Distribution Team we want to strengthen our skills in product development, performance requirements, validation and verification. As a part of a development team you will together with other team members, Scrum Master and Product Owner decide and prioritize the backlog and make sure to deliver the scope of the team.

The role is broad and challenging and you will use and develop your skills in product development, project planning, requirements, verification, analyses, communication, and balancing attributes to find the best solution. Being a part of the Air Distribution team will also give you an opportunity to grow within wider specter of expertise.
 

What you will do
You will work in close cooperation with your team, interfacing teams, suppliers, purchasing, manufacturing engineers and other stakeholders within the company. 
You will work closely with packaging teams, ensuring a good balance between the climate system and other stakeholders.   
You will take lead on design changes, analyze CFD data and participate in testing to verify the climate comfort requirements. 
You will make sure the air distribution system fulfills the customer expectations by develop the best possible solutions and verify and analyze the air distribution performance.
 

Experience and educational background
•    We believe you have completed at least B.Sc. degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent and have relevant work experience in the product development area.
•    We will be looking for the following skills:
•    transparent team player with focus on delivering the teams short term and long term goals
•    eager to understand how our customers use and experience our products, to be able to satisfy their expectations
•    ability to verify and analyze test results from CAE calculations and vehicle tests
•    communication and the ability to build and maintain strong network and relationships with stakeholders.
•    genuine interest in the trends in automotive industry
•    contributor to great team spirit
•    understanding of scrum and agile principles
 

You need to be fluent in English and have a driving license “B”, valid in Sweden.
