Business Controller to work with SF Studios’ production business! i Stockholm

Job Description

We are looking for a business-oriented Business Controller that will mainly work towards SF Studios’ Production business. You will play an important role in an iconic company that has a decade of film history, but at the same time is characterized as dynamic in an ever-changing market. Main areas of responsibility
SF Studios' overall business scope includes four business areas – Production, Distribution, Acquisition & Licensing and SF Anytime. Your role will mainly focus on Production and includes the following:

Business controlling and analyses

• Financial support to business operations
• Proactive work to challenge new and existing business models to drive good business
• Prepare information and provide analysis for investment decisions
• Analysis of monthly result, prepare reports, action plans and initiate follow-ups
• Gather info on and update monthly Latest Estimates
• Support in and drive the Budget and Forecast processes from a Finance perspective
• Prepare presentations for Business review meetings
• Various Ad Hoc projects and tasks

Business operations

• Run and develop all Business Controlling activities, regular and ad hoc analyses as well as provide adequate support and recommendations to managers and producers within the Production team for decision making.
• Revenue controlling, analyzing revenue models, Project controlling, profit and revenue recognition of investments and productions.
• Cost controlling of direct costs, overhead costs and suggest potential cost-saving initiatives.
• Play an active part and proactively evaluate potential business opportunities and initiatives.
• Overall responsible for preparation of budgets, forecasts and analyzing monthly financial results.

Investment decisions and governance

• Support the CFO, Head of Business controlling, business area managers and Nordic and Executive management teams with senior business controlling tasks, such as analyses, and business cases.
• Prepare investment board decisions and follow up on results.
• Prepare formal presentations of budget, and forecasts to Head of Business controlling or other managers within SF studios.
• Coordinate and control conditions of business cases, and take an active role at SF studios investment boards.
• Maintain high data quality and work closely with other teams to continuously improve data quality, reporting, and analysis.

Business processes and transformation projects

• Initiate process adjustments or projects that will improve the quality of financial statements and reporting.
• Process development to increase transparency within accounting and financial control.

As a Business Controller, you will be part of SF Studios’ Nordic finance team with Finance colleagues in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo and Helsinki and also in London. In 2022 we will also run operations in the US. You will report to SF Studios’ Head of Business Controlling.

Personal qualifications
To succeed in the role as Business controller we believe you will have the following qualifications:

• A university degree in Business Administration or equivalent
• 8-10 years working experience in a Business Controlling role, where you have gained broad process and business knowledge
• Structured and analytical competence to get the “big picture” but still attentive to key details
• The strong driving force and a problem-solving attitude to run transformation with FC colleagues in all companies
• Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluent in English and a Scandinavian language

You need to be able to handle deadlines in a timely manner but also be open to and enjoy a flexible climate where decisions and changes are made and happen rapidly.
