About the position 
Component Value Retention (CVR) purpose is to increase profitability, secure availability and reduce environmental impact from spare parts through circular economy models.  
We are responsible for the range of circular spare parts and the global process connected to make it happen. We contribute to the service operations profitability and sustainability targets by developing the business with new s.k. Remanufactured products and recyclable products.
To fulfil Volvo Cars producer responsibility we also need to ensure that our vehicles are handled on par or better than the regulation, on the same time ensuring minimum environmental effects so that the vehicles safely are recycled.
We are now looking forward to strengthen the CVR team with an End Of Life Vehicle (ELV) Manager that will handle the recycling of complete vehicles excluding the high voltage traction batteries.

 

What you will do 
As a member of a cross-functional team you will work on a wide variety of projects relating to the recycling of Motor Vehicles according Directive 2000/53/EC of the European Parliament, including but not limited to:
Ensuring that VCSO and all NSCs (National Sales Company) as well as importers are aware of and fulfil (local) legal requirements recycling of Motor vehicles.
Liaison with governmental authorities, NGO’s (Non Governmental Organizations), ACEA (The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association), other vehicle manufacturers, importer associations, dismantlers and other economic operators in the markets to identify leverage points to ensure fulfilment of our Producer Responsibilities of Motor Vehicles. 
Follow up on all possible upcoming ELV regulations together with Regulatory Affairs. 
Work pro-actively with ACEA members and be member of the respective working groups to ensure that all upcoming revisions on the ELV regulation is according to the ACEA positions thus minimize the cost for the automotive industry.
Investigate and analyze the electrification eco system and its impact for Volvo Cars and Service Operations,  follow-up and monitor the market on recycling technologies and collection including their geographical coverage, actors and partnerships.
Help to develop and update our Volvo Cars recycle strategy in coherence with our sustainability strategy and also liase with regions on ELV legislation both current and future and in doing so create a knowledge library which can be referenced and updated.
Authority
Be spokesman and represent Volvo Cars in vehicle recycling operational related issues throughout the markets with End Of Life Vehicle laws.
Be spokesman and represent Volvo Cars in Cross brand/Governmental/ Non Governmental Organization /Infrastructure/National associations meetings.  

 

You and your skills
You have a University degree or working experience in Circular Economy/Circularity Business or equivalent area.
You have preferably knowledge 
in the field of legislation/business and you are able to translate legal requirements into consequence and action plans.
Experience of working in an agile environment, Business Transformation and Motor Vehicle recycling would be a distinct advantage.
You are business acumen with an technical expertise and have insights wihtin different vehicle recycling processes.
You have a successful track record of leading projects, good organizational and reporting skills and are fluent in English (Both verbal and written). Other languages would be an advantage.

 

On a personal level
You have a high level of integrity and professionalism with good communication skills. Curiousness comes natural with a personal eagerness to investigate, learn and accomplish results. You are structured and results oriented and have a strong personal drive to get things done.
A natural ability of system thinking and structured way of working will be important in this role, as well as a high ability to work in teams and individually.
