Amazon is seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to join the AWS Strategic Industries group as the Global Industry Strategy Leader focused on Digital Innovation within our top F500 Industrial Manufacturing (IM) customers. Our goal is to use the skill and scale of AWS to make the benefits of a connected world achievable for all businesses. We work closely with strategic customers to bring their domain expertise, and our digital and innovation experience to solve industry-wide challenges on AWS.

Macro trends and disruptions in the Industrial Manufacturing industry revolve around driving operational efficiencies and accelerating time to market within factories, manufacturing operations and along the supply chain, new approaches to ERP, 3D printing, big data and analytics. The IM Strategy Leader will be responsible for setting a unified GTM strategy to accelerate growth and adoption of AWS technology, and developing strategic partnerships, for digital transformation within the Industrial Manufacturing business. They will analyze and synthesize the market trends, to expand, and penetrate into new areas within the Industrial Manufacturing market, through evangelism and proactive engagement at the CEO/Board level. They will be the primary AWS executive representing the voice of the customer to define new offerings, and identify the vertical solutions (including ecosystem level partnerships), that we need to win by leveraging both AWS and pan-Amazon assets. Ultimately, this leader will be critical in aiding our customers to transition toward Industry 4.0, Smart Factories, Smart Supply Chain, and Connected Factories, to deliver greater value for our customers and driving industry-wide transformation.

The IM Strategy leader will bring AWS Field Sales, Marketing, Services, Industry Products teams and related functions together on commercial strategy, partnerships and other strategic business opportunities. Additionally, they will lead a virtual team responsible for generating, managing, and executing some of AWS’s most complex and high impact transformation, and partnership activities. This includes managing relationships and negotiations for partnership deals which are unconventional in nature, and which often have long-term implications to AWS.

Key job responsibilities
This is a high visibility role offering an unparalleled opportunity to leverage your strong understanding of industrial manufacturing inside one of the world’s leading technology companies to structure innovative and highly impactful industry-wide transformation and strategic partnerships. It is expected that the successful candidate in this position will achieve all of the below in the first 12-18 months in the role:

• Build on AWS’s brand as the Supply Chain transformation leader by developing a long-term unified growth strategy for AWS’ Industrial Manufacturing business, including key partnerships and growth drivers
• Initiate and pursue business development opportunities that align with AWS’ Industrial Manufacturing strategy, including targeted customer engagements with executive and technology leaders, pipeline development, deal negotiations and strategic partnerships
• Serve as key senior executive and contact, develop strong interfaces and build a strong virtual, cross-functional team across AWS


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic qualifications
• 10+ years of corporate development, management consulting or business development experience. Experience in technology is required, ideally working within, or directly with, F500 Industrial Manufacturing companies.
• 10+ years of experience in building and owning Supply Chain related products, solutions and/or initiatives to drive strategic transformation.
• Bachelors Degree required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Preferred qualifications
• Established industry thought leader who evangelizes through speaking at public events and other media. Strong oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence others internally and externally.
• Track record of driving strategic initiatives and programs towards delivery of large partnerships and/or significant top-line growth for their organizations (ex: penetration into a new customer segment, bringing category defining products to market, industry-wide disruption through partnership).
• A self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to engage, earn trust from, and influence C-level/Board executives internally and externally.
• Have outstanding analytical, financial and negotiating skills that result in successful deals / partnerships.
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves. Able to dive deep into a new business in a short time frame.
• Track record of experience and successful deal-making critical to this role.
• A proven leader of people, as well as ability to influence without authority, mobilizing a large globally dispersed team.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
