Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a senior communications leader to lead Nordics, Baltics & Benelux Internal and External Communications. The mission is to connect the AWS field organization, at scale, with the information they need to engage with their workplace and colleagues, operate efficiently, and serve customers and well as ensure we communicate effectively with external target audiences.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading Nordics, Baltics & Benelux Internal and External Communications, build communications strategies in support of major change initiatives, and provide editorial and writing support for significant internal business proposals. You will adopt a data driven approach and work with your team to deliver a highly engaging tactical plan to the field teams in Nordics, Baltics & Benelux.
This role requires experience leading teams, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work backwards from ambiguous requirements to generate clear, concise communications that enable our field organization to work more efficiently and effectively. The right candidate is extremely data-driven, thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure entrepreneurial environment, and has proven experience managing people, priorities and working effectively across a number of internal stakeholders. This role involves frequent engagement with AWS leadership and requires a candidate with executive presence, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to influence others. This is a hands-on position - to be successful you must be willing to "roll up your sleeves" to drive the desired results. The candidate must also have a demonstrated track record in leading people and managing successful teams.


Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities:
• Develop Nordics, Baltics & Benelux wide internal communication strategy and highly engaging tactical plan.
• Develop and implement internal and external communications vehicles (newsletters, all hands meetings, video messages, etc.) in alignment with the communications strategy
• Develop executive communications that meet senior AWS leaders' business objectives and drive overall business goals.
• Support the creation of messaging and content for executive speaking, presentations, and other leadership communications that reach a wide variety of audiences.
• Assist with writing and editing strategic business proposals for new business opportunities. Assimilate inputs from leaders across the business and write narratives that present complex ideas and issues in a clear and compelling way, using anecdotes and data to support ideas and recommendations.
• Distill technical information, complex business processes, and change impacts into crisp, user-friendly communications that drive awareness and adoption of programs and initiatives.
• Propose, execute, and scale new ways of creating and distributing communications that expands program awareness and adoption in EMEA.

Basic qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• Extensive executive or internal communications experience, preferably at a high-growth, technology company.
• Experience developing and implementing communication plans.
• Experience creating content: digital, written, video, or visual communications materials.
• Experience driving cultural change and influencing organizations through communications, from audience and stakeholder analysis through implementation and success metrics tracking.

Preferred qualifications
• Exceptional written and verbal skills, including a demonstrated ability to translate sophisticated information into concepts that are more easily understood in crisp, concise communications
• Experience supporting HR communications to drive cultural change through effective change management strategies Proven ability to thrive in a high energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel.
• Proven ability to think strategically and implement ideas from ideation and development to measurement and evaluation.
• Ability to interact with, lead, and influence cross-functional teams & present results to large audiences
• Ability to exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow time-frames.
• An agile, flexible individual with a “can-do,” problem-solving approach to managing ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
• A curious self-starter with a proven track record of diving into unknown territory and learning new concepts.
