Bosch R&D Center Lund stands for modern development in cutting edge technology in the areas of connectivity, security, mobility solutions and AI. We are growing rapidly and looking for people to join us on our mission to become the Bosch Group’s 1st address for secure connected mobility solutions. We are working on a range of interesting projects, with a particular focus on software development for the automotive industry, electrical bicycles and Internet of Things.
Devices with wireless connectivity have one or more antennas which are typically designed and tuned to a specific environment. This leads naturally to challenges, if the connected device will be integrated into another product, as part of a system, and by that the environment can change. An interesting technology are closed loop antenna systems that can be individually tuned to their environment. We like to go one step further than this and evaluate what is the ideal antenna design to achieve the widest frequency coverage and efficiency in a closed loop antenna system.
The preliminary structure of the project is made up of three parts:
a. Study: An initial phase investigating the theory and application of tunable closed loop antenna systems. Study literature with state-of-art solutions and available components that are needed to support such a system.
b. Design: A design and implementation phase where a test setup is created with one or more antenna solutions.
c. Evaluation: An evaluation phase includes simulation and measurements to confirm the best antenna design strategy.
Scope of master thesis project
Two students completing 30 credits each (20 weeks) onsite at the Lund office.
In order to be successful in the project with think you are:
• Familiar with wireless connectivity and antenna systems.
• A student in Electrical Engineering or similar
• Self-driven, able to challenge yourself, and gain the experience needed to move the project forward.
