Volvo Cars is on an exciting journey, redefining the automotive experience by innovating to make people’s lives less complicated. We offer you a once-in-a-lifetime chance to make an impact in a company with unique opportunities to grow and make a true difference.

If you want to grow together with talented people who are creating a new automotive future, we have a job for you.  We are on our way to our digital future in many different parts of our business. One success factor that we need, is new digital products that will help us deliver coherent user experiences. Our digital services will complement and enhance our vehicles, enable new business models and increase the pace of innovation throughout the enterprise. We put our users first by thinking with a human-centric mindset.

What’s in it for you?
We are looking for a passionate Digital Product Owner for the product Integration Portals within the cluster Integration Center of Enablement (ICoE).
The Integration Portal product resides within the Integration Center of Enablement Cluster which manages a set of integration platforms, currently 8 of them, where IBM MQ, RedHat 3scale, and Apache KAFKA are the key platforms. We maintain and operate these platforms and self-service portals to enable (state of the art) integration capabilities for all applications at Volvo Cars.  You will take an active part in the transformation around how we develop integrations at Volvo Cars by driving the development of our self-service tools for integrations, Volvo Integration Portal (VIP) and Developer Portal (for APIs).  Our goal is to make this the “one-stop shop for all your integration needs” enabling application teams to be self-serving in their integration needs and management. By this, we actively contribute to time to market for application development and innovations. You will be an active part of driving this journey.

We are currently going through a major restructure of our cluster and we are creating 5 new products out of the current very large integration Product. As Product Owner for one of these products, you get the opportunity to be part of the exciting road ahead establishing the team and the product in a new way and build something exceptional together with the product team and cluster team.   The purpose of the role:  Being the Product Owner, you will drive the Self Service Strategy for integrations as you will head the work around the development of the tools VIP and Developer Portal and by that contribute to reducing the lead times for integrations substantially.

This product team’s key achievement is to lift the complexity of integrations to an easily navigated workflow where integrations for all integration platforms are created and deployed by the application teams themselves. The product team develops the tools, with all required backend functionality of the 8 integration platforms and a superior user experience that makes the complex integration creation simple and comprehensible. Naturally supporting and interacting with users to understand their needs and making the product value driven is an integrated part of the job.   As a Product Owner, you are in constant dialogue with our business stakeholders globally, the IT community, and with external parties to understand their needs and set the priorities and functions to actively support business objectives together with the rest of the teams within the ICoE cluster.  You and your team will Interact closely with the Integration Office product where user needs and requirements in form of integration patterns and technologies are measured and analyzed,  which will provide you with key information on prioritization of what features and patterns to develop.

What you’ll do
As a digital product owner, you will maximize value by owning and deciding upon priorities in the product team’s backlog from a business perspective to streamline the execution, while maintaining the technical integrity of the features/components for the team. You are the voice of the user, you have a business perspective and deep technical/integration know-how.

 • Involve the team in backlog refinement to achieve minimum handover and maximum joint understanding as well as understanding the scope of the upcoming enabler work

 • You will be articulating and consistently emphasizing the short- and long-term vision of the product to the team and relevant stakeholders as well as ensure increased stability for our portals by close collaboration with the other product teams of the cluster
 • Drive quality and operational excellence for the portals
 • Actively collaborate with stakeholders as well as other teams to understand the voice of the customer
 • Manage and optimize financials associated with the assigned digital product
 • Proactively develop product strategically with a long-term sustainability and excellent standard in focus
