About the programme
Take the opportunity to join our 4 months career-boosting Internship Programme designed around your potential as a future employee in a global organization! For the right person, an inspiring, visionary workplace awaits. As an Intern you will work and contribute to the department you are recruited to. You will be an asset to us as you contribute with new, fresh ideas, knowledge of the latest technology and new trends as you see things from a different perspective. You can challenge us by asking questions and we have the possibility to learn from you and not only the other way around.  

 

The programme offers common onboarding days, developed business understanding, personal-development opportunities, mentorship, and joint activities with the other interns in the programme. All positions are located on site at our headquarter in Gothenburg, Sweden. 

 

As an intern you will have full–time and paid temporary employment that starts mid-August 2023 and runs for 4 months. As the programme is full-time, you will not be able to, for example, do a thesis project while also doing the internship.  

 

The programme is open to applicants from all over the world and we welcome diversity in all aspects. For international applicants – Volvo Cars will support in the relocation process. The extent of the process may vary depending on nationality, current location, and other individual circumstances.  

 

For the Internship Programme Autumn term 2023 we are offering internships within areas: 

 

  • Data Science - Departments working with Machine learning, AI and Data platforms 
  • Electrification - Here we work on future car platforms, batteries and power electronics 
  • Software - Includes software development, testing and integration to mention some areas 
  • Sustainability - These teams work with sustainable material and battery control development 
  • User Experience UX – At UX the teams work with developing high level experiences for our customers, in everything from purchasing the car on our website, to driving it 

 

Who can apply? 

To be eligible to apply you must be enrolled at a university and have an ongoing Bachelor (3rd and 4th year) or master's education during the Internship programme. As we are an international workplace, you need to be fluent in English, spoken and written. For international candidates, you must hold a passport that is valid for at least 6 months after the end of the programme. 
 
To be a fit for the programme we think that you have studied Computer Science, Chemistry, Circular Economy, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical/Mechatronics, Software, Sustainability, UX or similar. 

 

We believe that you are results-oriented and committed to go the extra mile. You embrace teamwork, are a great networker and communicator. You have a positive attitude, and are interested in developing yourself, others, as well as our business.  

 

Recruitment process 
The recruitment process consists of psychometric tests and, for those whom we proceed with, Interviews via Microsoft Teams with members of the team which one will be joining. Based on your background and interest the recruitment team will match you with a suitable area and a dedicated mentor. More specific details on the project you will be working on will be presented at the interview stage by your potential mentor.
