At Inbound Logistics Engineering, we work together with internal and external stakeholders to find the best-in-class logistics solutions for our global inbound supply chain. We are a diverse global team based in Gothenburg, Shanghai and Charleston and we are now looking for an experienced engineer to complement our team in EMEA. What you will do?

This is a Strategic Expert role within the Cross docking and Logistic Centre field, reporting to the Head of Inbound Engineering EMEA. In support of our production plants, Volvo Cars run an extensive transport network throughout Europe with several Cross Docks, Logistic Centres, Distribution centres etc. As a Strategic Exert in this field, you are expected to establish and drive the strategy for the related services in close collaboration with the other strategic experts in the team, focused on transports and network design. 

To realize the strategy, you will work in close collaboration with our internal stakeholder, Transport Procurement, as well as with contracted as well as future potential suppliers. You are expected to continuously be up to date on new technology and possibilities in the field and strive to develop Volvo Cars’ supply chain to be as sustainable and cost efficient as possible while delivering the highest quality of service. 

You will also drive, as well as be part of, cross functional teams with our stakeholders to work towards the common goal of having a lean supply chain from supplier to when the material is used on the production line. 

Do you fit the profile?
The ideal candidate has a university degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or similar and has worked in the field for a number of years. You have extensive experience from production logistics, including designing layouts, processes, system requirements etc. for logistic centres and/or cross docks/terminals. You combine a strategic mindset with technical knowledge and are an experienced project manager, used to driving change.

As a person, you are self-driven and always striving for learning new things. You thrive in an environment where you are pushed to analyze and optimize and handle new and unknown challenges and opportunities. You have effective verbal and written communication skills and like to be active in driving change together with your team.
